Serena Yvonne Gabena is the main female protagonist in Pokémon Aura.
Serena and her mother, Grace, moved to Kanto from Kalos when Serena was a little girl. At Professor Oak's Summer Camp, she met Ash and become friends. Over the years, she's developed a crush on Ash, and would soon learn the feeling was mutual. Over time, she would also realize she has psychic abilities.
Uninterested in being a Rhyhorn Rider, Serena was unsure of what she wanted to do as a Trainer, especially after winning the Battle Chateau. But after some inspiration, she decided to become a Pokémon Performer. Following this, she would gain rivals in Marina, Miette, and many others.
Serena is a kind and polite girl, but she can also be openly rebellious towards her mother, Grace Gabena.
Serena has a sisterly bond with Sally Pisen, whom she confided that she hated wearing shoes. Sally was able to convince Serena to give up wearing shoes altogether, except in snowy places. Sally also teaches her about how to bake and groom. Serena also shares a sisterly bond with Verity, as they share some minor mother issues.
Serena has shown a deep affection for Ash, and would soon learn that the feeling is mutual. While adventuring with him, Sally, Jacob and Mia, she would meet many Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, including Arceus.
It is later revealed that Serena has psychic abilities, which allow her to communicate with Pokémon, and sometimes with people. Serena is also shown to be a good singer and dancer, which she has demonstrated a few times.
All of Serena's Pokémon are generally in two categories - one team who are good for battling, and another team who are good for Pokémon Performing.
Serena's battling Pokémon team consists of Charla, Hitmonlee, Scizor, Omanyte, Fearow, and Ursaring.
Serena's Pokémon performing team consists of Braixen, Nidoqueen, Jigglypuff, Bellossom, Cubone, Sylveon, Togekiss, Slowking, Politoed, Smeargle, and Pancham.
Serena does not like shoes. She prefers to be barefoot in hot and warm climates. But she will only wear shoes in cold climates if she really has to. Thanks to Sally Pisen, Serena loves being barefoot even more.
