[edit] Storyline

[edit] Arc

In Pkmn Arc, you start out as a young albino boy/girl named Arko/Arkina. He/she supposedly, as a child, was injected with the DNA of Arceus. He/she meets a young boy with six scars on his face. He calls himself Giro. You speak to Prof. Ray about him and it is revealed that he is a boy who was injected with the DNA of Arceus' enemy, Giratina. Giro runs in and challanges you to a fight. You choose on of three starters: Arc, Giraa, or Dar (you can't choose Giraa) (NormalType, Ghost/BugType, and DarkType). Giro chooses the one strongest against you and you fight. Giro hates you for some reason and says that he'll get you for this. You set of on a pokemon adventure. Eventually, you encounter Giro again, and you fight. However, at the end of the battle your starter evolves, shockingly, into a legendary. It's Arceus if you chose Arc and Darkrai if you chose Dar. Your foe's pokemon evolves, too. Your pokemon fight without you commanding them. The shockwave make everything evaporate, including you.

[edit] Gira

In Pkmn Gira, you start out as a boy/girl, with scars on his/her face, named Giro/Girona. He/she supposedly, as a child, was injected with the DNA of Giratina. He/she meets a young Albino boy. He calls himself Arko. You speak to Prof. Ray about him and it is revealed that he is a boy who was injected with the DNA of Giratina's enemy, Arceus. You, believing him to be evil, run in and challenge Arko to a fight. You choose on of three starters: Arc, Giraa, or Dar (you can't choose Arc) (NormalType, Ghost/BugType, and DarkType). Arko chooses the one strongest against you and you fight. Arko hates you for some reason and says that he'll get you for this. You set of on a pokemon adventure. Eventually, you encounter Arko again, and you fight. However, at the end of the battle your starter evolves, shockingly, into a legendary. It's Giratina if you chose Giraa and Darkrai if you chose Dar. Your foe's pokemon evolves, too. Your pokemon fight without you commanding them. The shockwave make everything evaporate, including you.

[edit] Ending

Once you have two DSLites, place Pkmn Arc inone and Pkmn Gira in the other. Turn them both on and direct the player character on each game to the Middle Sanctum in Limbo (where you are transferred after the deadly battle between your starters). In Pkmn Arc, Giro appears in front of you; in Pkmn Gira, Arko appears. Giro and Arko argue about who's fault it was the explosion happened. They agree to unite and recreate the destroyed world. Both spirits dissappear. They reappear in the ordinary world, now entirely barren. They don't appear in ordinary form; in pkmn Arc, you appear as Arceus or Darkrai; in Pkmn Gira you appear as Giratina or Darkrai. For the first time in the history of pkmn gaming, you can play as a pokemon. You also have access to the special Umbra Ball and Crystal Ball, in PKMN Gira and Arc respectively. As you traverse the barren wasteland, you encounter the pokemon ????? several times. Catch one with an Umbra Ball and it turns into Minun. Catch one with the Crystal Ball and it turns into Plulse. Trade a Minun for Plusle between the two games in the ruins of a Pokecenter, and the true Arceus and Giratina appear. They say that the Giratina and Arceus that the players own are simply fakes, and that they are the real ones. Arceus combines his energy with Giratina and the world is restored.

[edit] Reception

Pokemon Arc and Gira were recieved with mixed reviews. It was critisised for its strange storyline, and the player being unable to beat the game without both games and two DSs. This led to major modifications in the remake, Pokemon Coral and Ash
