This is for our wiki, but not a wiki in general. For a simplified version of our rules and style, please see this page.

Style of PokéFanon

  • Page Ownership
    • Pages are non communal, except when canon!
    • Individual pages are owned by the creator unless otherwise stated. If you wish to have a page under the same title, place your name in parenthesis after the title on a new page.
      • Collaborations are also an exception to this rule, but that must be explicitly stated in the title or beginning of the article.
    • You shouldn't edit other's pages without permission, bar maintenance and consistency edits, which include adding categories.
    • If a page is adopted, the adopter can edit at will. They will become the owner as soon as 30% of the original content is changed or added.
  • Page Style
    • A page may not contain sexual content unless under a large censor.
    • Violence is allowed so long as the page includes the {{violence}} template or a similar warning.
    • Proper grammar is imperative.
    • Please make your pages follow a reasonable organizational pattern.
    • Pages under 50 words should have a note saying that the article is meant to be short or is under construction.
    • You may include a {{Rating}} on your page if you feel it is appropriate.
    • Personal categories are optional, but main categories are required. The main categories are in plural form.
  • Voting
    • Any user may vote on general wiki issues, but experienced users with more than 250 edits hold more weight.
    • Promotions may have special voting requirements attached.
    • The definition of abuse of the voting system is subject to the discretion of PFW Staff.
    • Users with 1000 edits or more may put up an issue for Voting as long as the correct procedure is followed and they gain approval from a bureaucrat. Include a clear description of the issue, how votes will be counted, and the closing time.
  • Theories
    • Theories can be posted on a Canon page under your own section.
    • You may also post theories on a standalone page as long as you include the page in Category:Theories.
  • Roleplays
    • Roleplays should have a character section and something saying who to contact to join.
    • If your roleplay has no Pokémon in it, it does not belong here.
    • For Non-Pokémon roleplays, make them here.
    • Contact an experienced rollplayer if you have questions.
    • Include the roleplay in a roleplay category, such as Category:Roleplays.
  • Userspace and talkspace
    • User pages can be all lengths and not be considered stubs. No mature content. Please keep edits to them under 15% of your total.
    • However, if you feel a page is unfit for the mainspace as of yet, please DO NOT make the incomplete page into a blog post. That's only for community fun-ness! Use user sub-pages instead. User:You/example. Otherwise, incomplete mainspace articles are OK, with an appropriate incompletion template.
    • We have a tradition of preserving all talk pages in full for record purposes; please do not remove messages.
      • If you feel a talk page is too long, please ask an administrator for an archive.
  • Templates
    • Please do not fool around with templates if you don't know what you're doing. If you must, please use your sandbox.
    • Improvements to rarely templates are welcome, but please ask an admin first for those that are widely used.
  • General style and licensing
    • If in doubt about anything, work up the hierarchy ladder. Moderator > Junior Admin > Admin > Bureaucrat
    • You shouldn't copy from ANY other website unless you have the owner of that websites permission.
      • Also, art must be used with permission from the author and appropriate credit.
    • No use of curse words in excess, no use of inappropriate content.
    • Talk page abuse: The messages on a talk page shall be retained in all content. If a page becomes too long, an archive is acceptable if in the proper format. Ask an administrator for help with an archival.
  • Forum
    • Threads should have a clear purpose and a topic to discuss.
    • Forum threads are not a blog substitute.
    • Threads MUST be placed in the correct board. The board description is on the main forum page.
    • If a board is placed incorrectly, it must be moved. The creator of the thread will be issued a warning by an admin.
  • Files
