Planwana (Japanese: ???) is a Grass Pokémon. Along with ??? and ???, it is one of three starter Pokémon that professor Alder hands out, and the player can choose to start with at the beginning of Pokémon Ancients. The main purpose of Planwana, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.
Planwana comes with the ability Overgrow, which increases the power of Grass-type moves used by the Pokémon by 50% once the Pokémon has less than one-third of its maximum HP. Upon reaching level 16, this Pokémon will evolve into Basileef, where he will gain the secondary Rock type.
It is the grass starter for the Hayash region.
Planwana seems to be designed after a bipedal Iguana. It has two small leaves at the tip of its tail, indicating it's a grass type.
Living in the more rocky areas of the forest, this Pokémon is commonly found sleeping on top of one of these rocks, enjoying the sun. However, in order to defend themselves from predators, it is able to spot incoming animals from quite a distance - even while it's sleeping. Due to this fleeing behaviour, it is rarely caught by trainers.

Planwana is the only Pokémon so far that stands on two feet, stands on all fours upon evolution and back up on two in his final evolution.
