Story

Jon, Drake, Mary, April and Typhlosion walk out of the Pokemon Center.

Drake: Now, where are we going?

Jon: Well we could look around Malie City, and then head of to the trial site.

Just then, Nathan and Rosa bump into Jon, knocking Jon over.

Rosa: Sorry, we weren't looking where we were going.

Nathan and Rosa then look and realise it's Jon, Drake, Mary and April. Nathan holds out his right hand to help Jon up, which Jon accepts.

Jon: Rosa and Nathan.

Nathan: It's been a while.

Drake: How have you both been?

Rosa: We have been good, yourselves?

April: Yeah, totally fine. Spent some time back on Melemele Island.

Nathan: I see. Jon, remember our promise?

Jon: A battle next time we meet.

Jon and Nathan are standing in park where a battlefield is present. Rosa, April, Drake and Mary are on the sidelines watching. Typhlosion is standing next to Jon.

Nathan: Let's have a 3 on 3 battle.

Jon: Right.

A few people from around the town come to watch the battle.

Woman: That's Jon! He fought in the competition on Akala Island!

Man: And that is Nathan, he is so awesome! I've seen him battle once.

Jon: Seems like we have a crowd and one that knows us.

Nathan: Nothing wrong with that.

Jon: Not at all.

Nathan: Let's go!

Nathan sends out his Infernape.

Infernape: Infernape!

Jon: Who is that Pokemon? I know it's from Sinnoh but I've only seen Nate's Torterra.

Rotom-Dex: Why don't I help out.

Rotom-Dex scans Infernape.

Rotom-Dex: Infernape, the Flame Pokemon. Infernape is a Fire and Fighting type. It tosses enemies around with agility. It uses all of its limbs to fight its own unique style.

Jon: Cool. Then let's go!

Jon sends out Brionne.

Rosa: Brionne? Popplio evolved then.

Mary: Only yesterday though.

Jon: Bubble Beam!

Brionne uses Bubble Beam towards Infernape.

Nathan: Overheat!

Jon: Off the bat!

Infernape dodges Bubble Beam and is in front of Brionne in a blink of an eye.

Jon: Dodge!

However, Infernape uses Overheat close range and causes a lot of damage to Brionne.

Jon: Argh. You okay?

Brionne shakes off the flames and nods.

Nathan: Impressive. Thunder Punch!

Jon: Hyper Voice!

Infernape heads towards Brionne using Thunder Punch, but Brionne counters with Hyper Voice.

Mary: Yes!

Rosa: I'd keep looking.

Everyone does and sees Infernape pushing through the Hyper Voice Brionne is using and then connects a powerful Thunder Punch, causing Brionne to fly into the air.

Nathan: Flare Blitz!

Infernape jumps up and uses Flare Blitz, hitting Brionne and smashing Brionne into the battlefield. Infernape goes back in front of Nathan, but takes some recoil damage.

Jon: Brionne!

Brionne struggles up.

Nathan: I'm impressed. Thunder Punch.

Infernape covers its right fist in electricity.

Jon: Ice Beam!

Brionne uses Ice Beam on the floor and Infernape runs towards Brionne but Brionne uses the frozen battlefield to dodge. Infernape stops and tries to keep its balance.

Jon: Moonblast!

Brionne uses Moonblast on Infernape, hitting its mark.

Nathan: Overheat!

Jon: Bubble Beam!

Infernape uses Overheat, but Brionne dodges and hits Infernape with Bubble Beam. However, the ice melts where Overheat hit.

Jon: Argh.

Nathan: Close Combat!

The ice battlefield has now melted and Infernape moves fast and hits Brionne with a barrage of Close Combat, knocking Brionne out.

Jon: You were great Brionne.

Jon returns Brionne.

Nathan: The ice battlefield was a nice idea.

Jon: With Brionne's body structure, the ice is perfect. Shame it didn't work out though.

Jon grabs a Pokeball.

Jon: Steenee!

Jon throws the Pokeball and Steenee pops out.

Steenee: Stee!

Mary: Why is Jon using a grass type?

Rosa: Not sure, but who knows with Jon.

Drake: True.

Nathan: Overheat!

Jon: Dazzling Gleam!

Infernape uses Overheat but Dazzling Gleam overpowers Overheat and hits Infernape, causing quite a bit of damage.

Jon: Double Slap!

Steenee then hits Infernape with Double Slap, knocking Infernape out.

Nathan: Great job Infernape!

Nathan then returns Infernape.

April: Infernape took more damage from Brionne than it seemed.

Drake: Yeah. But most of that was fast attacking and then recoil from Flare Blitz.

Rosa: True.

Nathan: Right, Greninja!

Nathan sends out Greninja.

Jon: Greninja now!

Nathan: You seem surprised?

Jon: I was expecting you to choose a Pokemon that has a type advantage against Steenee, oh well. Energy Ball!

Nathan: Night Slash!

Steenee uses Energy Ball but Greninja cuts it in half with Night Slash.

Nathan: Now, Water Shuriken!

Greninja uses Water Shuriken and hits Steenee.

Jon: Double Slap!

Steenee heads in towards Greninja.

Nathan: Ice Beam!

Greninja uses Ice Beam close range to Steenee, causing major damage and sends Steenee skidding back to Jon.

Jon: Dazzling Gleam!

Steenee uses Dazzling Gleam and the move hits Greninja.

Jon: Go, Double Slap!

Nathan: Aerial Ace!

Steenee runs in using Double Slap, while Greninja runs in using Aerial Ace. They connect most of their attacks, and both Pokemon are now tired.

Nathan: Steenee is good.

Jon: So is Greninja.

Nathan: Ice Beam!

Greninja uses Ice Beam towards Steenee.

Jon: Dazzling Gleam!

Steenee uses Dazzling Gleam and cancels out Ice Beam, but creates a dust cloud.

Jon: Energy Ball!

Steenee uses Energy Ball straight through the dust cloud and the move hits Greninja. The dust cloud disperses.

Nathan: Night Slash!

Greninja moves fast and is now near Steenee.

Jon: Energy Ball!

Steenee uses Energy Ball close range, but Greninja also hits Steenee with Night Slash, causing a massive explosion due to the connection of the moves.

Jon: Steenee!

Greninja is still standing, but barely. Steenee is on the ground unable to battle.

Jon: You were fantastic Steenee. Return.

Jon returns Steenee.

Nathan: Right, Greninja, return.

Nathan returns Greninja.

Jon: So, who is next?

Nathan sends out Lucario, who is wearing a Mega Stone.

Jon: Mega Lucario! Buddy.

Typhlosion walks onto the battlefield.

Nathan: Let's go, let our bonds extend!

Nathan touches his key stone and Lucario Mega Evolves into Mega Lucario.

Jon: Mega Lucario. Then let's increase our power!

Jon and Typhlosion access their battle bond and become Jon-Typhlosion.

Nathan: There it is.

Jon: Flamethrower!

Jon-Typhlosion uses Flamethrower towards Mega Lucario.

Nathan: Psychic.

Mega Lucario uses Psychic and stops Flamethrower, then sends it back, hitting Jon-Typhlosion.

Jon: Argh, a Psychic using Lucario.

Drake: That will be a challenge.

Rosa: It'll be interesting to see what Jon does though.

Nathan: Aura Sphere!

Mega Lucario uses Aura Sphere towards Jon-Typhlosion.

Jon: Focus Blast!

Jon-Typhlosion uses Focus Blast and cancels out Aura Sphere, but Mega Lucario is right in front of Jon-Typhlosion now.

Nathan: Bone Rush!

Mega Lucario uses Bone Rush and hits Jon-Typhlosion up into the air and then jumps up, knocking Jon-Typhlosion back down, smashing into the battlefield.

Jon: Argh.

Jon-Typhlosion gets up.

Jon: Dragon Pulse!

Jon-Typhlosion uses Dragon Pulse, hitting Mega Lucario.

Nathan: Psychic!

Mega Lucario uses Psychic the lift Jon-Typhlosion into the air.

Nathan: Ice Punch!

Mega Lucario uses Psychic to drag Jon-Typhlosion towards him and then hits with Ice Punch, causing a lot of damage.

Jon: We are still in this!

Nathan: Aura Sphere! Repetitive fire!

Mega Lucario fires lots of Aura Sphere's towards Jon-Typhlosion.

Jon: Surf past them!

Rosa: Surf past them?

Jon-Typhlosion grabs the fire shuriken from his back and then throws it in front of him and then jumps on it and uses it like some kind of hoverboard. Jon-Typhlosion dodges all the Aura Spheres.

Jon: Shuriken Blaze!

Jon-Typhlosion comes round behind Mega Lucario and hits with Shuriken Blaze, hitting Mega Lucario with a lot of power.

Nathan: That is good.

Jon-Typhlosion is now on the ground standing in front of Jon, with the fire shuriken reformed on his back.

Jon: Flamethrower!

Nathan: Bone Rush!

Jon-Typhlosion uses Flamethrower but Mega Lucario counters with Bone Rush, cancelling out the move. However, two cages trap Jon-Typhlosion and Mega Lucario.

Nathan: Who done that?

Missy and Mike appear, one on each cage.

April: Team Rocket!

Mike: Prepare for trouble!

Missy: We are here to make it double!

Mike: Prepare for our attack!

Missy: It'll be faster than a Quick Attack!

Jon: Dragon Claw!

Mike and Missy stop and see Jon's Jangmo-o running towards the cage holding Jon-Typhlosion and use Dragon Claw but nothing happens to the cage. Mike jumps down from the cage, picks up Jangmo-o and chucks him onto the floor.

Jon: Jangmo-o!

Jangmo-o then snarls at Team Rocket.

Mary: Jangmo-o seems angry.

Jon: More up for a battle than ever before.

Mike: You little pest! One day you could allow us to go through our motto.

Nathan: Bone Rush!

Mega Lucario uses Bone Rush in the cage but nothing happens.

Jon: Dragon Pulse!

Jon-Typhlosion uses Dragon Pulse but nothing happens to the cage.

Missy: They are indestructible.

Missy jumps off the cage. Mike sends out Togedemaru. Jangmo-o runs towards Togedemaru using Headbutt.

Jon: Hey, wait up Jangmo-o!

Mike: Spiky Shield.

Togedemaru uses Spiky Shield and Protects itself against Headbutt, but also causes damage to Jangmo-o.

Jon: Jangmo-o! You need to be careful.

Jangmo-o then uses Headbutt on Jon, causing him to fall over.

Jon: What is with you. Return!

Jon returns Jangmo-o.

Mary: Why was Jangmo-o like that?

Jon: No idea.

Mike: Thunderbolt!

Togedemaru uses Thunderbolt towards Jon.

Drake: Stufful, Force Palm! Drampa, Protect!

Drake sends out Stufful and Drampa. Drampa uses Protect and stops Thunderbolt. Stufful heads towards Togedemaru using Force Palm, hitting its mark, sending Togedemaru towards Mike.

Jon: Way to go.

Drake: Great work you two.

Jon: Right, Torracat!

Jon sends out Torracat.

Rosa: Why Torracat?

Jon places the Normalium-Z into his Z Ring.

Jon: Torracat, let's go!

Jon activates his Z-Ring, which has the Normalium-Z in it. Jon moves his right hand over his left wrist where his Z-Ring is, then he moves his arms in front of him, then moves his left arm up at a 45 degree angle above his head. He moves his right arm at a 45 degree down, making a straight line from his left arm all the way down to his right arm. Jon then moves his right arm in front of his chest and his left arm in front of his head. The Z-Ring begins to glow. Light flows from Jon into Torracat.

Jon: Breakneck Blitz!

Torracat runs towards the cages using Breakneck Blitz and breaks both the cages. Torracat, Jon-Typhlosion and Mega Lucario run back to our heroes.

Mike: I'm not liking this!

Nathan: Aura Sphere!

Jon: Dragon Pulse!

Mega Lucario uses Aura Sphere and Jon-Typhlosion uses Dragon Pulse, hitting Team Rocket, causing them to blast off. Jon-Typhlosion reverts back into Typhlosion and Mega Lucario reverts back into Lucario.

Jon: That was a good battle, even though it did get interrupted.

Nathan: You are a great battler Jon and your Pokemon are very strong.

April: Just need to figure out why Jangmo-o stopped listening to you.

Jon: It is strange.

Rosa: Well, we better be off.

Rosa, Nathan and Lucario walk off and the watching crowd disperses.

Mary: Right, Pokemon Center time again.

Jon: Yep, then we can head along the island.

Drake: Let's go.

Everyone walks towards the Pokemon Center and the screen freezes.

Narrator: Our heroes came across Nathan and Rosa while on Ula'ula Island. Jon and Nathan had a battle which was rich in attacks and had great strategy, however Team Rocket interupted the battle. But our heroes were able to stop them, but Jangmo-o didn't listen to Jon. To find out why, keep on watching.
