The Extol Region is a region of the pokemon world. It is located to the south of Kalos, and to the north of Unova. It is the setting of the Generation VIII games. It is also accessible in Pokemon Draco Origin and Bio Origin.
Professor Maple is the resident Pokemon Professor, and gives Pokemon Trainers a choice between Grasstied, Embrette, or Aquacut. In the games, the player begins his or her journey at Newfound Town, and ends it in Champion City, though there are many more subplots.
It is not based off any real region, though it does take some inspiration from real-world regions, mostly from Europe.
